The IIPTF will be, in short, a one stop shop for all individual and business needs when it comes to the pet industry ?a venue where individuals will have a variety of choices to obtain expert advise and for entrepreneurs to look at investment opportunities in an industry that is growing phenomenally. For the small and medium investors and self employed, pet industry offers several opportunities as it caters to the tastes and preferences of the people who are willing to spend. Showcased at the fair will be a few success stories of entrepreneurs, who made their investments come good in a short time. A few of them are being persuaded to make detailed presentations at the interactive sessions being planned for the individuals and business participants.
Among those who have confirmed participation is last year's visitor from Australia, Mr Cameron McTavish, Chairman of Aristopet, a large Australian pet goods manufacturing company, finds the IIPTF a very good idea. "This is a great show. I have been in the pet industry for a long time. I have watched it grow in popularity across Asia, starting with Japan quite a while ago and now it is catching up in India in a big way."
It is not for nothing that even the union government recognized this growth and as an encouragement, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram had given tax concession to the pet food and pet care industry in India with a view to encourage it further. In fact, neighbouring China is a bigger player compared to India in the global pet industry.
Given the right atmosphere, competition, technology and investment, pet industry sure gives India a chance to enter global markets in a much bigger way. Besides, domestic companies can actively work towards import substitution, as some of the companies have done already.
All visitors to the Third India International Pet and Trade Fair (IIPTF) starting January 30, 2009 at Noida will have an opportunity to watch dog trainers and handlers at work and interact with them for tips.
Exhibitor's Profile: Pet lovers will get a chance to see for themselves all the advances made by the growing pet industry in India and abroad. On display will be a range of domestic and foreign dog breeds and pet products. Besides these, there will be many firsts ?seminars, workshops, lecture demonstrations on pet care, pet grooming and training. Dog shows, contests, entertainment will only add to the fun quotient at the fair.
The fair will not just be limited to dogs alone. The entire range of pets ?cats, fishes, birds, horses to name a few ?will be on display at this domestic animal kingdom that the Noida fair venue will become.
